Modern Turquoise, Made with Intention

Since 2004, Sowell Jewelry® has created distinctive turquoise and gemstone jewelry inspired by the relaxed spirit of California and the natural beauty of the American Southwest.

Our designs combine genuine stones, thoughtful craftsmanship and an effortless style made for everyday life.

How It Began

Sowell Jewelry was founded in California by Helena from a personal love of handcrafted jewelry and natural stones.

After studying jewelry design, silversmithing, traditional metalwork and stone setting, Helena began developing a style of her own—bringing together California's laid-back coastal character with the color, texture and strength of Southwestern jewelry.

What began as a small creative studio has grown into an independent jewelry brand carried by more than 400 boutiques, galleries and specialty retailers worldwide.

Genuine Materials, Natural Character

We work with trusted suppliers to source genuine Arizona turquoise and other natural stones selected for their color, matrix and individual character.

Because stones are formed by nature, no two are exactly alike. Variations in color, texture and pattern are part of what makes each Sowell piece distinctive.

Our collections include solid 925 sterling silver, gold vermeil and select gold-plated designs. The materials used in each piece are clearly identified in its product description.

Designed and Finished in California

Every Sowell collection is designed in California. Our studio team selects the stones, hand-finishes the jewelry and inspects each piece before it is packaged and sent to you.

We create jewelry that feels expressive without being difficult to wear—pieces that move naturally from everyday outfits and travel to celebrations and special occasions.

In 2015, Sowell Jewelry appeared in British Vogue's Jewellery Lookbook. Over the years, our designs have continued to reach customers and independent retailers around the world.
